INSTALLATION OBJECTS ARTIST BOOKS MULTIPLESRose Frain was an independent visual artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland and exhibiting nationally and internationally until her death in December 2025. She initially studied with Victor Pasmore, Richard Hamilton and Louisa Hodgson at Durham University, Kings College Newcastle (now Newcastle University). Frain's last continuing project was This Time in History. Often realised as room sized installations identifying critical moments, the works were site responsive and intensively researched. Her Off-piste Artist Room was based at her home in Edinburgh and also operated a mobile project travelling to other locations. Her solo installations included: the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Summerhall, Edinburgh; Glasgow Women's Library; Newcastle University; Goldsmiths, University of London. ![]() |
